2014 State Gymnastics Championships

Cooroy Gymnastics State Championships wrap up…

The Cooroy Gymnastics Club has had a great year. We have seen large numbers of gymnasts registering and progressing through our development and competitive program. This year the club will have almost 500 registered members for the second year running. The growth has been throughout the club, from kindergym right up to our senior competitive squads and has been especially strong in attracting and introducing boys to the exciting sport of gymnastics.

Our champion MAG and WAG gymnastics teams competed at Queensland Junior State Championships over the September school holidays and had some fantastic outcomes including State Apparatus Champions!

This year the Cooroy Gymnastics Club had 8 WAG gymnasts and 5 MAG gymnasts representing the club in both the Individual and Regional Challenge competitions.

Boys Competitor Lewiis Crump stood out winning two State Championships, on rings and highbar and placing third on parallel bars.

Cooroy Gymnastics wins awards at Gymnastics Queensland Annual Club & Gymsports Awards

2013 turned out to be an amazing year for the Cooroy Gymnastics Club. Not only did it’s gymnasts win an impressive list of trophies and medals at competitions including region and state championship events but the club has been rewarded for its efforts.

This year the Club was one of the first clubs to become an accredited LaunchPad Club recognising it’s programming and it has also partnered with smart moves to deliver a progressive gymnastics program.

To top off all of this great work the club was presented with an award at the Gymnastics Queensland Annual Club & Gymsports Awards for outstanding club growth. This award is given to clubs who achieve an annual club gymnast growth of over 25% in a year. This year numbers grew to just under 500 members.

On top of the numbers attending its KinderGym, home school & afternoon program, the club also caters for many school groups who come and train at the club including special education groups.
